Job Description:
Duties: Conduct complex strategic and economic and analyses, and
developing comprehensive approaches to analyzing and solving multifaceted
problems related to the commercialization of pharmaceutical and
medical device/diagnostic products. Develop pricing and contracting
strategies of pharmaceuticals prior to launch. Conduct opportunity assessments
and commercial due diligences for individual assets. Complete market
access landscape assessments. Analyze product positioning. Design
research methodologies and develop research materials. Coordinate sample
recruitment for research. Conduct in-depth analysis of qualitative and
quantitative data and research outputs. Design and implement Excel models
based on client specifications and project demands, including revenue
forecast models to assess commercial opportunity of new products and
financial models to assess business opportunities and risks around
healthcare policies. Develop and formulate strategic recommendations and
implications based on analyses of findings in the context of the market
environment. Structure and finalize client deliverables for presentations and
models. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of analyses and deliverables.
Interface directly with client representatives on project issues and
communication project developments. Present final research findings and
recommendations to clients. Provide assistance to less experienced, more junior
staff, including reviewing their analyses and deliverables and
providing direction on tasks. Communicate project developments, progress, results
and issues to more senior staff and/or project managers. Requirements: Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Management,
Economics, or related field plus 1 year of experience performing qualitative
and quantitative analysis and developing strategic business
approaches to analyzing multifaceted financial, market, and management
concerns from pharmaceutical and medical device/diagnostic companies. Or, in
the alternative, Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in
Management, Economics, or related field plus 3 year of experience
performing qualitative and quantitative analysis and developing strategic
business approaches to analyzing multifaceted financial, market, and
strategic management concerns from pharmaceutical and medical
device/diagnostic companies. Also requires: demonstrated expertise (DE) developing
primary research programs and analyzing the domestic and
international pharmaceutical industry and policy environment -- including
market access pathways, competitive landscapes and dynamics, and the role of
the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) -- and formulating strategic
recommendations for pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies; DE applying
theoretical economic concepts derived from industrial organization and
applied microeconomics and using quantitative methods to assess market
dynamics, firm behavior, and technological innovation with specific
reference to the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors; DE utilizing Excel
reports with embedded VBA functionality to formulate rigorous mathematical
and economic models, as well as analyze complex data sets, to support
pricing, profitability, and product launch strategies for pharmaceutical
or biotechnology companies; DE analyzing and modeling complex
economic structures -- including descriptions of actual and potential
market outcomes and results of qualitative (i.e., theoretical) and
quantitative (i.e. econometric) analyses -- to develop dashboards and
graphical representations to enhance communication among relevant
stakeholders, including organizing and informing stakeholder collaborations to
serve as political advocacy groups; and DE analyzing and benchmarking
capabilities and performance related to market access of pharmaceuticals --
including competitor assessments, definition of KPIs, interviews with
internal stakeholders and team workshops -- to re-design roles,
responsibilities, governance and optimize processes of market access
organizations. 5% to 10% domestic and international travel required. Experience may be
