Job Description:
Our client, a top spirits/wine portfolio company, is currently
adding a Marketing and Public Relations Director. Will manage
global team and be very centric on PR, marketing communications,
Media relations/press releases, partnering with influencers, brand
strategy, new product launches in the marketplace.Based hybrid (3
days in office) in NY or Atlanta. Adult beverage experience a MUST
(can be blend of supplier and agency). Position will report
directly into the CEO and COO.
Bonus on top of base salary posted. SUMMARY: Develops, manages, and
coordinates strategic media and public relations programs; manages
the activities and operations of marketing & communications
department and staff.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Develops and
implements long- and short-term public relations plans to meet
company goals and objectives. --- Manages proactive media relations
strategy designed to cultivate relationships with targeted media
and generate publicity that increases company awareness. ---
Conceptualizes and manages story angles and materials used in
pitching targeted media. --- Manages preparation of all press and
strategic documents including but not limited to press releases,
press kits, articles, case studies, and bylined articles. ---
Manages company press clippings, publication library, and contact
database.
--- Organizes and maintains a master calendar of all public
relations and media events. --- Develops results measurement matrix
for projects; analyzes, assesses, and reports on effectiveness of
projects and campaigns. --- Manages budgets for all projects. ---
Manages and oversees activities with other department
managers/staff to maximize public relations effectiveness. ---
Develops and manages media training and interview preparation and
provides feedback and counsel after media interviews. --- Assigns
duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to
organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
--- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates;
actively works to promote and recognize performance. --- Keeps up
to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem
areas and taking corrective actions.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Directly supervises employees within the Marketing &
Communications departments.
This currently includes teams based in the UK, New York, and
Atlanta. --- Directly supervise employees within the Digital
Marketing & Ecommerce department, which includes three remote
employees based in the US. --- Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
applicable laws.--- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring,
and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONS: ---
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent --- 7+ years related
experience --- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and
motivating subordinates--- Excellent written and oral communication
skills --- Excellent presentation skills --- Strong organizational,
problem-solving, and analytical skills --- Ability to manage
priorities and workflow --- Versatility, flexibility, and a
willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with

various teams and committees--- Proficient with Windows and Mac
operating systems, all major social media platforms, and PR
databases, and MS Office programs. --- Proven ability to handle
