- Lead system engineering for avionics subsystems across the full
product lifecycle. - Translate customer requirements into technical
solutions, define software/hardware interfaces, verify
requirements, and integrate safety?critical systems. - Support
design and certification of embedded mission software for modern
defense platforms (software?requirements development or C?code test
procedures as needed). - Oversee development of embedded system
requirements for mission and communication systems, collaborating
with hardware, software, integration, test, and program?management
teams. - Manage team planning and coordination to meet performance,
schedule, and cost targets while contributing directly to code
development and architecture. - Create and maintain traceability
matrices, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), algorithms, test
plans, procedures, and reports. - Lead verification & validation
(IV&V) activities, guide certification (DO?178C, aerospace
standards), and apply MBSE, DevSecOps, and CI/CD practices to
automate verification. - Provide technical leadership and
mentorship to junior engineers, and build strong customer

engineering professional with a track record of leading embedded
avionics projects. - Skilled at developing high?level and low?level
system, software, and subsystem requirements and maintaining
comprehensive traceability. - Proficient in defining and managing
internal & external interfaces; authoring and updating ICDs. -
Strong background in MBSE, system architecture, and safety?critical
software development (DO?178C, aerospace standards). - Hands?on
expertise in C/C++ test?procedure development, integration,
verification, and validation. - Familiar with DevSecOps, CI/CD
pipelines, and automation of verification activities. - Excellent
verbal and written communication; able to present technical
information to senior external stakeholders. - Strong analytical,
problem?solving, and leadership abilities; capable of guiding
large, high?visibility programs and mentoring multidisciplinary
teams. - Proven ability to build strong customer relationships. WHY

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering,
Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer
Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent). • Minimum 9 years
of professional systems?engineering experience or 7 years with a
Master’s degree. • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering
(MBSE) – Preferably CAMEO • Experience with development of software
requirements and working collaboratively with software engineers in
the design, development, and test of embedded software • Experience
with the design, integration and test of avionics systems and
software operational programs • Demonstrated experience with Agile
development practices and leading cross?functional teams. Desired
skills • Experience with system design, requirements definition,
and documentation standards (e.g., DO?178C, DO?254) • Experience in
engineering, particularly with cockpit, integrated avionics and
mission system architectures, avionics, and sensor subsystems •
Experience with the design, integration and test of avionics
systems and software operational programs • Experience with
integrating avionics hardware • Strong programming skills in C,
C++, or Python; ability to develop automated verification test
code. • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems • Current

Ability to work remotely Part-time Remote Telework: The employee
selected for this position will work part of their work schedule
remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed
Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed
during the hiring process. Work Schedule Information Lockheed
Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide
additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from
standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be
condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with
additional time away from the office and are in addition to our
Paid Time off benefits. Security Clearance Information This
position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US
Citizen for consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range
for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York
(excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii,
Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or
Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced
above, the salary range for this position will reflect the
candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary
information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers
factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of
the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key
skills as well as market and business considerations when extending

metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is
$125,600 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary
range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work
