Audiologist: Contract/1099 Opportunity We are seeking to
contract an Audiologist in Hartford, CT to help ensure our service
members get the best care possible. You will play a vital role in
the continued care of these men and women, all while growing your
current practice. Your Role at Jamshid Tamiry, M.D., P.C., dba QTC
Medical Group of Alaska: As a contracted Audiologist, you will
provide one-time Compensation & Pension (C&P) and pre-discharge
exams for veterans and service members, primarily focusing on
evaluating hearing-related conditions. Your role will involve
performing and interpreting audiological tests, documenting
findings, and completing Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs).
These exams are critical in determining the severity of hearing
problems and their potential connection to military service.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for administering and interpreting a variety of
tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, such
as air and bone conduction, and speech reception and discrimination
tests, the site of damage, and effects on comprehension and
speech.
- Evaluate test results in relation to behavioral, social,
educational and conduct medical record reviews of past audiograms
and documents to determine the likely cause of the hearing loss,
and to state the prognosis and address the issues of hearing loss
and tinnitus.
- Operate computerized programs and utilizes application software
and databases in order to enter, modify, and access information
into/from electronic medical records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality with written and verbal
information per HIPAA.
- Responsible for conducting otoscopic examinations, cerumen
management, and calibration checks of audiometric equipment.
- Lead paraprofessional staff training for Audiology specific
skills and certifications as required by all LOB.
- Completion of Veterans Benefits Administration Disability
Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs). Required Qualifications:
- Education: Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from an accredited
college or university.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience.
- Proficient in using computers/tablets, Electronic Medical
Records (EMR), and basic software applications (Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Certification:
- Unrestricted State medical licensure without limitations to
perform full scope of authorized practice
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association (ASHA) or American Academy of Audiology (AAA) is
preferred but not required. We will reimburse the cost of
certification.
- Clearance:
- Ability to pass a medical clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government clearances
(LARS, Public Trust, NACI, BGI, etc.) as required. Preferred:
- Professional experience related to Compensation and Pension
Examinations or hearing conservation programs is preferred but not
required.
- Experience conducting occupational/disability medical
examinations Work Schedule and Compensation:
- Location: Hartford, CT
- Flexible Schedule: Appointments are typically scheduled
approximately 5 to 7 days of notification. You set the pace and
frequency!
- Compensation: Compensation will be provided for each
examination, with payment determined based on the specific
requirements and type of examination performed. Additional
Information:
- Provider must complete required online training courses, up to
9 courses at approx. 10.5 hours total.
- You will be given access to the Provider Liaison (PL)
department; this department assists with any issues, questions, or
needs you may have while contracted with Leidos QTC Health
Services.
- Leidos QTC Health Services will run a 7-year criminal history
and sex offender background check.
- Once the BGI and credentialing have been completed, the
Provider will be required to obtain CPEP Certification (approx.10.2
