Job Description:
Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS) has an excellent
opportunity for a full-time (4/10 hour shifts) Physician Assistant
to join its Greenwich, CT team. The Physician Assistant will
provide support to a hand and upper extremity surgeon. This
well-regarded practice is committed to superior clinical outcomes
and provides a highly collegial and supportive work environment.
Robust compensation (including generous call pay) and benefits

allowance. Office locations include Greenwich and Stamford, CT.ONS
is a multi-specialty orthopaedic and neurosurgery practice that has
served patients throughout the New York Metropolitan area for more
than 20 years. The 33 ONS fellowship trained physicians provide
expertise in the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions and
injuries, sports medicine, minimally invasive orthopedic, spine and
brain surgery, joint replacement, and trauma. ONS provides onsite
digital imaging and state-of-the art physical therapy and MRI. ONS
also operates a world class AAAHC accredited ASC in Stamford,
CT.Responsibilities:Performs and documents history and physicals of
pre-operative patients. Prepares documentation for consent on
admitAssists with post-operative checks, including wound
evaluations and dressing changesPerforms in-office procedures such
as cast/splint placements and removals, suture removal and wound
care, staple removals, and managing infectionCollects and/or
prepares samples, such as wound cultures or joint fluid from
patients for testingAdministers medications, orally or by
subcutaneous injection when indicatedRenews medications, as needed
for patients in office, phone, or electronicallyOrders X-rays,
laboratory tests, physical therapy renewals, CT/MRI and other
diagnostic tests as neededMakes post-operative calls to patients at
home to check on status when indicatedInstructs and counsels
patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens
and patient teachingParticipates in Urgent Care
coverageParticipates in rotating PA on call coverage, which
includes after hours phone coverageAssists physicians with
fluoroscopic epidural injections when neededFirst assists in all
surgeries with attending physiciansAssures all films, X-rays, MRIs,
etc. are up on monitors prior to surgeriesHandles all emergency
room consultations and admissionsProvides quality in-patient care
including rounds, progress notes, dressing changes, and follows lab
resultsHandles post-op orders for all cases coveredCoordinates
discharge of patient including clinical resume and all other
required documentationIND2Requirements:Masters degreeConnecticut PA
licenseNCCPA CertifiedDEA and Connecticut Controlled Substances
LicensesMinimum one-year orthopedic or surgical experience
preferred, new grads invited to apply with an orthopedic surgery
rotationAbility to work well under pressure and multi-taskStrong
