Job description Montefiore Mount Vernon, a community-based hospital which is part of the Montefiore Health System, is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team. Position Summary: The Surgical PA will provide medical care under the supervision of a surgeon, assisting with surgical procedures and managing perioperative care Responsibilities: Perioperative Assessments, including obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic and therapeutic interventions Assisting in the Operating Room Managing post operative care Offering counseling and education to meet patients' needs, making appropriate referrals Experience and Education: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school Bachelor's Degree with a PA Surgery concentration, master's degree preferred Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York NCCPA(certified) DEA license/CPR-BLS/NPI/NCC PA required. Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care Prior experience as a Surgical PA We offer an excellent salary based on years of experience and a benefits package through 1199.
