summary: The Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine will
lead a team of board-certified physicians at NYC Health
Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx, overseeing advanced
clinical programs and inpatient/outpatient services. The role
includes strategic leadership, faculty development, quality
improvement, and fostering academic and community engagement with a
focus on equity and high-quality care. This high-impact position
demands clinical expertise, program development experience, and a
commitment to serving a diverse patient population in a large
municipal health system. Physician Affiliate Group of New York
(PAGNY) has an opportunity for a Chief, Pulmonary and Critical Care
Medicine to join our dedicated team at NYC Health Hospitals/Jacobi
and North Central Bronx. This premier facility accommodates over
325,000 outpatient visits, 100,000 emergency room visits, and
20,000 inpatient admissions annually, serving a diverse community
with a wide range of healthcare needs. Jacobi Medical Center
maintains strong academic affiliations with both Albert Einstein
College of Medicine and the CUNY School of Medicine , offering a

addition to two Critical Care Fellows who rotate from Montefiore.

seasoned, experienced, accomplished, mission-driven leader who

teaching, and team building. OPPORTUNITY DETAILS: You'll lead an
accomplished team of 18 board-certified Pulmonary/Critical Care
physicians , managing a broad spectrum of services across two
hospitals: 12-bed MICUs at both sites, plus 8-bed step-down unit.
Active ECMO Program (V-A & V-V). Advanced Bronchoscopy Suite
featuring the Ion Robot. Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) and Biopsy
Program. Cutting-edge Lung Cancer Screening Program, tightly
integrated with Thoracic Surgery, Oncology, Pathology, and
Radiology. Dedicated Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Pulmonary
Hypertension (PHT) Clinics. Vibrant Point-of-Care Ultrasound
(POCUS) Program. Modern Outpatient Procedure Area fully staffed and
supported. Provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership
across inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary and Critical Care
services at both campuses. Oversee faculty development,
recruitment, and retention. Promote excellence in clinical
outcomes, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety.
Drive educational programs for medical students, residents, and
fellows. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and uphold the

Respect, and Excellence. Lead Team Based Care in both the Jacobi
and North Central Bronx Medical Intensive Care Units. This is a
high-impact leadership position at the nexus of public service,
clinical innovation, and academic medicine. Qualifications Board
Certification in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Demonstrated
leadership in hospital-based or academic settings Proven success in
clinical program development and quality improvement Passion for
serving underserved communities Track record of mentoring and
academic engagement Wages and Benefits include: Annual Base Salary:
$342,000* based on 40-hour work week. The annual total value of
compensation package is estimated at $416,200, which includes the
baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set
forth below: Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous
year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity
targets. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution
limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company
contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. After
one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company
contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement. Generous
Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday. Medical,
Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee
contributions significantly below market rates. Life Insurance and
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x
your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to

(equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the
employee. Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts
