Job Title: Radiologic Technologist I Profession: Radiology Tech

per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in
an acute care facility. Must be able to work independently in
emergency room settings, including trauma patients. OR experience
and pediatric portable experience required. License: Must possess a
state license. Certifications: Must meet the requirements for the
National Registry and pass the examination. Must-Have: - Completion
of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology. - High school
diploma or equivalent. - Ability to lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push
and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a
day. Description: The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for
obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level
without requiring constant supervision. The role involves producing
diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients,
providing immobilization devices, and selecting proper technical
factors based on individual patient needs. Restricting the
radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to provide
non-exposure of radiation to unaffected parts of the patient is
essential. The individual will perform portable x-ray examinations
in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. Operational
procedures to identify patients’ films with name and x-ray number
must be followed, as well as correctly marking films to denote the
side of the patient taken. Developing exposed x-ray films by
processing methods is a key responsibility. The technologist
completes patient requisitions with initials, date, number, and
size of film. Maintaining an orderly x-ray room as directed by the
department head is important. Preparation of radiopaque contrast
media and assisting physicians in administering these mixtures to
patients is expected. Administrative duties related to scheduling
appointments, instructing patients, filing films, maintaining
records, and reception of patients must be performed as required.
The technologist renders services and assistance to all patients
based on their individual needs in mobility and positioning on the
x-ray tables. Identifying the needs of the patient population
served and modifying care accordingly is essential. Effective
communication with patients, parents, and primary caregivers at an
appropriate level is necessary. Adhering to identified standards
