Job Description Position Summary: The Staff Therapist (LMSW) and
First-Year Trauma Fellow provides trauma-informed, ongoing
individual therapy to clients within The Rowan Center’s
POCA-licensed Trauma Recovery Practice. This role is part of a
structured, multi-year clinical fellowship designed to develop
highly skilled trauma clinicians with specialization in EMDR. The
position combines direct clinical care, intensive supervision, and
advanced professional training, preparing fellows for independent
licensure and long-term clinical excellence. Minimum
qualifications: Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work,
Counseling, or related field Active Connecticut license (LMSW,
LPC-A, or equivalent) Strong alignment with The Rowan Center’s
mission Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite EMDR Basic Training or
willingness to complete within 6 months of hire Bilingual
(Spanish/English) preferred Reporting to the Clinical Director, the
Staff Therapist (LMSW) and First-Year Fellow will: Key
Responsibilities Clinical Services Maintain an active caseload of
individual therapy clients, assigned by the Clinical Director
Complete approximately 980 clinical sessions annually Deliver
trauma-informed care in alignment with clinic policies, ethical
standards, and best practices Complete all clinical documentation
in accordance with regulatory and funding requirements Supervision
& Clinical Development Participate in weekly individual clinical
supervision (minimum 60 minutes) Attend and actively contribute to
weekly treatment team meetings Demonstrate ongoing clinical growth
with the expectation of pursuing independent licensure (LCSW or
equivalent) by Year Three, Q1 Trauma Fellowship Requirements
Participate in structured fellowship training and professional
development Complete EMDR Basic Training (if not already completed)
Engage in ongoing EMDR consultation with the goal of achieving EMDR
Certified Provider status by the end of Fellowship Year Three
Complete all required continuing education and advanced clinical
trainings (funded by the agency) Community Engagement & Outreach
Represent The Rowan Center in community settings, including: Task
forces and professional meetings Community events and outreach
efforts Educational presentations about clinic services Hotline
Coverage Provide a minimum of 24 hours of weekend hotline coverage
per month, which may include: Two 12-hour primary shifts, or One
24-hour secondary/on-call shift Fellows receive a stipend for
hotline coverage Additional Responsibilities Complete The Rowan
Center’s 40-hour Advocacy Certification Training Attend staff and
department meetings as requested Collaborate with multidisciplinary
partners and allied professionals Participate in fundraising and
community-wide events Maintain compliance with all required
trainings (HIPAA, privacy, technology, etc.) Evening and weekend
availability may be required Other duties as assigned Flexible
