Posting Summary The Department of Community Health is searching
for one (1) full time General Dentists at the rank of RBHS
Instructor/Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track in Somerdale, NJ
(Camden County) at the RSDM University Dental Center at Somerdale.
This faculty member in the Department of Community Health provides
support for students, assure timely care for the patients, serve as
a nucleus for interdepartmental faculty communication and provide
all phases of patient care as required. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of patient care and ensuring
proper post-treatment management, including recare; Ensure that the
standards, policies and procedures of RSDM , as outlined in the
Clinic Manual, Radiation Hazard, Infection Control, Patient’s Bill
of Rights, and RSDM Confidentiality policies, and Quality Assurance
protocols are followed at the sites. Supervise and instruct
students in their respective disciplines, by demonstration when
required; Review the records of patients who treatment has been
documented as completed; Review patient records prior to
termination of patient treatment. Authorization is documented in
the consultation section of the patient’s record; Ensure, with site
faculty, that RSDM standards for the education of students are
maintained; Conduct small group discussions with students when
possible; Participate in CODE faculty standardization and
calibration; Perform evaluation of students’ competencies. Assists
in quality and quantity review for all dental personnel when
requested. Remains current in the field of dentistry on a level
applicable to the title. Accomplishes dentistry using
pharmacological adjuncts depending on individual circumstances and
dentist qualifications. Consults with the medical staff in cases
showing oral manifestations of medical conditions. Is available for
consultation by the medical staff in cases of oral pathology and
other related conditions of common interest. Arranges program and
treatment for patients experiencing oral trauma, oral pain, oral
infection and other pathology. Assists in conducting program of
preventive dentistry, dental education and oral hygiene. Diagnoses
and treats diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth, gingiva,
mucosa, and related oral structures with reasonable patient
acceptable sensitivity. Cleans, restores, extracts and replaces
teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances,
medications and surgical instruments. Administers local anesthesia
and other supportive medication. Keeps such records and reports as
are necessary for the discharge and control of his/her patients.
Serves on call, administratively, operationally and clinically and
handles dental emergencies. Understands and adheres to Rutgers’
compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance
Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Keeps
abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers’ regulations,
laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are
modified. Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their
knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures
specific to their jobs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
