Starting pay for this job is $97,520.Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies, and work location. This individual will be responsible for interpreting product briefs, recipe development to set cost parameters, material sourcing, and preparation of meal samples in support of culinary/sales efforts and customer relationships.Will be heavily involved in the building of culinary relationships with both our customer and supplier base to enable continued rapid business growth. In addition, this position works with the culinary and development team to manage and maintain critical kitchen operations and coordinate functions within the kitchen facility.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop products that meet customer expectations and cost price points based on sales briefsManage culinary projects through the critical path stage gatesSelects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvements for existing onesMaintain kitchen operations (sanitation, maintenance, & organization)Coordinate and execute internal and external customer cuttings with associated documentationSecure and maintain inventory of ingredients used in the development processPrepare meal samples in support of sales and customer relationshipsRecipe innovation - design and create recipes within partner guidelines to excite and attract customer focus whilst maintaining FreshRealm ingredient pantry requirementsInvolvement in continuous product / process improvement and value engineering projectsPreliminary organoleptic shelf-life evaluation and data required for preliminary costingsAssist in compilation of SOPsWork with cross functional departments during the development processSupport factory operations in an advisory capacity during product launchMaintain all relevant documentation requirements for FreshRealm and customersManagement and development of junior team membersLiaise with suppliers on new ingredient requirementsOther duties as requiredQualifications for the JobSkills and RequirementsCreative individual with a passion, affinity and love of food underpinned by a strong commercial acumenThrive in a demanding manufacturing environment and be driven to see your concepts succeed in the marketplaceExcellent project management skills and a creative driveExperience in working with chilled / frozen products is essential, ideally in the ready meal sectorHigh end restaurant experience in Asian cuisine - Thai / Korean / ChineseMarket and product research, identifying range architecture and opportunitiesAnalyzing and staying current with the latest food trends, changes in market and suppliersStrong understanding of product development cycle from concept to commercialization, including cost parameters and shelf life implicationsPrevious positions with direct accountability for sanitation and inventorySanitation training and certification (Food Handlers
Card minimally required)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical and logical problem-solving abilitiesExcellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently or within a team on multiple projects at one timeSound understanding of ordering, inventoryAbility to collaborate with all levels of the organizationProficient in Google applicationsAbility to travel up to 30% of the time.
