What you'll do...

The Mid Market Ad Sales team is a scaled sales team that supports more than 1,000 medium-to large-sized advertisers and agencies.

As the Team Lead on the Mid Market Ad Sales team, you will report to the Head of Mid Market Sales. This position will be directly responsible for leading a team of 5-10 Partner/Account/Campaign Managers whom help clients and suppliers achieve the best results from their advertising campaigns through Walmart Connect – through consultation, education, optimization, and support. In addition to hiring, building and developing a high-performing team, this position will be responsible for working with cross functional teams across WMC to create and grow programs focused on improving the WMC experience for our clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities: 

  • Revenue: Reach and exceed sales quotas while contributing to overall team goals 
  • Volume: Ability to manage a scaled sales team overseeing a high volume of Mid to Large sized advertisers
  • Always-On: Implement a strategy across your team for always-on revenue via Search and Display ad products.  
  • Relationships: Develop and broaden high-level collaborative relationships across Walmart Merchants, Suppliers and Ad Agencies. Understand and identify contacts that manage multiple budgets (brand, shopper, DR, video, etc.).
  • Operations: Continue to improve the operationalization of the Mid Market scaled business
  • Work with WMC cross functional teams & leadership to drive initiatives and support
  • Lead a high-performing team of Partner Managers, Account Managers and Campaign Managers 
  • Coach, develop and inspire your direct reports 
  • Become an expert in WMC’s solutions for businesses of all sizes 
  • Identify actionable insights to improve client results and team strategy 
  • Work cross-functionally within sales and other Walmart organizations to drive revenue and increase customer satisfaction 
  • Identify opportunities to improve ad products and the customer experience 

Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of experience in digital advertising sales, search, DR, performance advertising, platform sales,
  • 10+ years experience building and running business inclusive of Mid Market accounts 
  • 5+ Years of managing a sales team in a scaled sales environment; P&L responsibility and oversight is a plus
  • Proven track record of building a business; Hiring, GTM strategy, comp plan development, P&L, operations, etc.
  • Track record of Executive level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills are essential, as well as curiosity, persistence, and the ability to solve problems in a structured and scalable way
  • Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytical experience coupled with knowledge of operating principles
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup, sales, and/or online advertising environment strongly preferred 
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial and comfortable dealing with ambiguity 
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, presentation skills, attention to detail, exceptionally organized, and diligent follow-through 
  • Strong understanding of Walmart consumer behavior and how Walmart helps suppliers, marketers and consumers 

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising, Consumer Psychology, or related field and 6 years' experience advertising sales, advertising, sales, or related field OR 9 years' experience advertising sales, advertising, sales, or related field.
