Insp?r Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living’s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring Director of Memory Care for its new Insp?r Carnegie Hill property. Opened in March 2021, Insp?r Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. The Director of Memory Care Role:  The Director of Memory Care is responsible for meeting Inspir standards and practices along with state regulations as it relates to memory care and programming. The Memory Care Director is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of all programs and ensuring that they are therapeutic to the residents and maximizes their quality of life.  The Director of Memory Care will ensure accurate, timely, and professional delivery of services to all residents and must uphold the Inspir philosophy and values under the Senior Director of Integrated Care.

 

  • Assesses resident, family and staff needs across the community, and develops strategic and operational plans for the provision of resident care and the delivery of all clinical services and
  • An integral part of the Integrated Care team, the Memory Care Director will work to oversee all aspects of resident care and clinical services, nursing care, ancillary services, provider partners and care-related aspects of quality assurance, regulatory compliance, safety and risk management and resident/family/staff satisfaction for the Memory Care program at Inspir.
  • Facilitates and follows evidence-based Standard of Practice, performance standards, and standardized workflows to ensure optimal efficacy, efficiency and
  • Collaborates with the General Manager to develop strategy, business plans and budgets that focus on all aspects of clinical and facility operations including setting priorities, staffing models, reducing costs, and maximizing revenue while ensuring outstanding care and
  • Works collaboratively with all other Department Heads to develop priorities and goals to address resident needs throughout the community.
  • Plays a lead role in addressing and resolving infractions or violations identified by staff or state regulators including developing and implementing action plans, plans of correction and new policies or SOPs.
  • Uses Key Performance Indicators and business analytics to set goals, drive strategy, inform planning and monitor performance
  • Performs regular audits to ensure that each clinical department is meeting all Inspire, as well as state standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Memory Care Program meets all state, federal and other regulations
  • Ensures that all associates working on a memory care neighborhood has completed orientation Dementia training which included 8 hours of Habilitation Therapy training.
  • Responsible for providing Habilitation Therapy Training to Orientation classes.
  • Responsible to providing Heart Philosophy Training, Basics of Dementia and wandering and Elopement overview during new hire orientation.
  • Responsible for providing monthly dementia in-services to all associates that relates to dementia.
  • Train and monitor care giving team’s dementia-oriented approach; coach as needed.
  • Must adhere to all applicable compliance requirements and safety policies & procedures including but not limited to: understanding and mastering state regulations; completing required compliance training in a timely manner; reviewing Code of Conduct at least annually and promoting Inspir’s Code of Conduct; Promoting Inspir’s compliance program; adhering to Inspir’s Policy & Procedures; reporting, promptly and in good faith, any instances of suspected fraud, waste and abuse; suspected privacy and/or security incidents; or any other compliance concerns; as well as ensuring confidentiality of resident PHI and company proprietary information.

 

Education/Experience/Licensure/Requirements: 

 

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Nursing or another clinical or therapeutic field and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and associates
  • Experience working with seniors including those with memory care needs
  • Excellent customer service and emotional intelligence skills
  • In good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases
