 Insp?r Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living’s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring Door Attendants for its new Insp?r Carnegie Hill property. Insp?r Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. The Door Attendant Role:  Serves the first-floor entrance to the community and contributes to the safety of the building as well as providing basic assistance.

  • Provides outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community
  • Stations in the lobby area to observe the entry of all persons into the building
  • Does not leave post unattended unless necessary, i.e. assisting a building resident, or an emergency. If post is left unattended, must first secure the building by ensuring all entrances are locked
  • Keep complete and accurate log books indicating names and times of all visitors and workmen entering the community
  • Be responsible for the control of any keys used in work duties
  • Provides apartment access to authorized resident and/or family member if necessary
  • Accepts resident packages for safe keeping and return to residents upon their arrival
  • Has working knowledge of building security system(s) and procedures
  • Sorts and distributes mail
  • Reports building problems/emergencies
  • Controls public gathering at entrance ways and lobby areas
  • Assists residents, their families or visitors getting into and out of vehicles
  • Supports the transportation coordinator in securing parking for house vehicles
  • Carries out other duties as assigned  


  • High School diploma or equivalent required  
  • Experience and passion in working with seniors  
  • Able to convey and understand information and ideas in English 
  • Stand, walk, climb and bend most of the day. Occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry medium to heavy weights
  • Be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary  
  • Work well in stressful, high pressure situations and be able to maintain composure and objectivity 
  • Be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests   
  • Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members 
  • Must be authorized to legally work in the United States.  Criminal background check required
