Job Description Job Description Direct Support Provider / Respite Worker We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate DSP to join our team. As a DSP, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with special needs. Your role will involve working directly with clients and their families to ensure their well-being and promote their independence. Responsibilities: - Provide direct support and care to individuals with special needs, including assisting with daily activities and personal care - Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behavior - Collaborate with clients Circle of Support to develop and implement individualized care plans - Assist clients in developing essential life skills, such as communication, socialization, and self-care - Provide transportation for clients to appointments, activities, or community outings - Create a safe and supportive environment for clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being Skills: - Experience or knowledge in special education or caregiving is highly preferred - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client transportation - Knowledge of behavioral health principles and strategies - Experience in direct support or childcare roles is beneficial - Ability to work effectively with individuals with special needs Job Type: Part-time Pay: $20.00 per hour Expected hours: up to 20 hours per week Location: Cuddebackville, NY Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
